Union Films: Free Outdoor Screening (08/06/13)

This Saturday, Union Films will be seeing out the year in spectacular style, as per usual. We’re bringing you an outdoor screening of epic proportions using our new DCI projector; Iron Man 3 complete with BBQ, refreshments and (hopefully) blazing sunshine!

Still in cinemas, this is a real coup for us to be able to show you, as well as you guys who get to see it for free. Currently the 5th highest grossing film of all time, Iron Man 3 is the third installment in the (as-of-yet planned) Iron Man series.  With a new director at the helm (Shane Black of Kiss Kiss Bang Bang fame) this film sets a completely different tone; Tony Stark is faced with living in a world post-Avengers, unable to recover from the events in New York. Then his world is torn apart by a formidable terrorist called the Mandarin, so he starts an odyssey of rebuilding and retribution. Robert Downey Jnr, Don Cheadle and Gwyneth Paltrow reprise their roles and this film features villains Ben Kingsley and Guy Pearce – you don’t get anymore A-list than that!

Iron Man 3As mentioned, there will be a BBQ, the Stags will be open and our usual refreshments will be out there for you. We’ve also got Surge there throughout the day, broadcasting some summer tunes to get you in the mood! And this is all taking place outside Garden Court (Building 40), on the green opposite the library. It’s going to be very busy so make sure you get there for the BBQ beforehand at 7.30pm, grab yourself and your friends a good spot and settle down for our (sun-permitting) 8.30pm start.
