In the first of this years’ movie marathons, we are holding a clash of the animation studio titans, Pixar vs DreamWorks. We’ll be lining up the best from each studio for you to choose which to watch on Saturday at 6pm!

As always, when you buy a ticket you’ll get one of our exclusive Movie Marathon T-Shirts, and food from the SUSU Café will be available during the intervals to keep you fuelled up. Tickets are £12 (or just £10 if you have a season or year pass). During the interval before each film you’ll be voting for which film you think is the best. The winner will be shown on our main screen, and the loser on screen two.

Here’s the lineup:

Toy Story vs. Shrek

A cowboy doll is profoundly threatened and jealous when a new spaceman figure supplants him as top toy in a boy’s room. Vs. In a twist on the typical fairytale, an ogre, in order to regain his swamp, travels along with his trusty but annoying donkey to rescue a princess for a scheming lord who wishes to become King.

A Bugs Life vs. Antz

On behalf of “oppressed bugs everywhere,” an inventive ant named Flik hires a troupe of warrior bugs to defend his bustling colony from a horde of freeloading grasshoppers led by the evil-minded Hopper. Vs. They say ant colonies are meant to be one of the most organised systems in the world. Just like any other system, there are people who want to break out and people who want to to take over it. Upon seeing the beautiful Princess Bala, worker ant Z attempts to beat the system to be with her.

The Incredibles vs. Megamind

In his prime Mr. Incredible a.k.a Bob Parr fought evil with his super-strength, but those days are gone and Bob becomes your average suburban father, until danger strikes again and he and his family must face crime. Together. Vs. Megamind & his life-long archenemy, MetroMan are aliens that were sent away from their respective home planets in time of crisis. Megamind, taking the role of villain, continuously loses battles to MetroMan. But this pattern eventually breaks, leading to Megamind having to become the hero of the day.

Finding Nemo vs. Kung Fu Panda

Overprotective clown fish Marlin tries to keep his only son Nemo safe, but he wants freedom and in an act of rebellion swims into the open sea only to be captured by a diver. Marlin and his new found, and rather forgetful, friend Dory set off on an action packed adventure to rescue Nemo. Vs. Po the Panda is a kung-fu fanatic who doesn’t seem built for the art. Yet when a prophecy announces that he is “the chosen one” he must get into shape to defend all he holds dear.

Ratatouille vs. Madagascar

A rat named Remy lives in Paris and dreams of being a chef. Chosing to raid a restaraunt kitchen instead of the dustbins he is discovered by the cleaning boy Linguini and the two form an unlikely culinary duo. Vs. Spoiled by their upbringing with no idea what wild life is really like, four animals from New York Central Zoo escape, unwittingly assisted by four absconding penguins, and find themselves in Madagascar, among a bunch of merry lemurs.

Wall-E vs. How to Train Your Dragon

What if mankind had to leave Earth, and somebody forgot to turn the last robot off? After hundreds of lonely years of doing what he was built for, WALL·E (short for Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class) discovers a new purpose in life (besides collecting knick-knacks) when he meets a sleek search robot named EVE. Vs. The son of a Viking chief must capture a dragon in order to mark his passage into manhood and prove his worthiness to the tribe in directors Chris Sanders and Dean DeBlois’ adaptation of Cressida Cowell’s popular children’s book.
