A singer, a multi-instrumentalist and a producer, SOHN is one of the most anticipated artists moving towards 2014. Originally from London, SOHN HQ is now in Vienna, a city that reflects his music pretty well.
Originally starting to gain attention back in 2012 with his debut release ‘The Wheel‘, which has amassed over 600,000 Soundcloud plays, SOHN has since been incredibly busy with a wide range of projects.
He’s a close collaborator with BANKS, another member of THE LIST 2014, after remixing her track ‘Before I Ever Met You’ and having production credits on her latest EP London. Notable remixes include Lana Del Rey’s ‘Ride’ and an incredible version of Mercury nominated Laura Mvula’s ‘Green Garden’. More recently, he’s produced on a Kwabs single, and only yesterday unveiled a remix of Disclosure/London Grammar’s ‘Help Me Lose My Mind’. SOHN is a busy, busy man.
His own music is sparse, heavily led by synth beats and his own vocals that speak of loneliness and secrecy. That isn’t to say that it’s all doom and gloom. ‘Bloodflows’, his most successful single to date, is a long and expansive record that builds and lets go in a synthplosion, blowing the mind.
Can’t wait for the album? You’re in luck. SOHN recently posted a cheeky clip of the highly anticipated LP on his instagram while he finishes up the mixing process.
SOHN’s debut album is expected early 2014 on the 4AD label.
