Lily Allen to join Coldplay for charity gig in London

Tickets went on sale this morning for the Under 1 Roof event which will take place in the Hammersmith Apollo on December 19th. Coldplay will headline the gig and will be joined Lily Allen, David Brent, Rizzle Kicks and magician Dynamo, with Fearne Cotton hosting the event. Funds raised will be donated to Kids Company, a charity which helps vulnerable children and young people in London and Bristol.

Speaking to NME magazine, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin says: “Buying a ticket to this concert will guarantee two things: a totally unique never-to-be-repeated night of star-spangled entertainment, and money in the Christmas coffers of a charity that brings love and happiness to London’s most vulnerable kids.”

Coldplay have donated instruments and stage outfits from their 2012 Mylo Xyloto tour in order to raise funds for Kids Company. The items are currently listed on ebay.

Ricky Gervais, as David Brent, will be playing with his band Forgone Conclusion. The role of David Brent was revived earlier this year for BBC’s Comic Relief.

Lily Allen is currently holding the Number 2 position in the UK iTunes chart with her cover of Keane’s Somewhere Only We Know, recorded the for the John Lewis Christmas advert. Her new music video, Hard Out Here, was released on the 12th of November.

Tickets for the gig will be available from November 14th from the Gigs And Tours and Eventim Apollo websites.
