The Belgrade Theatre and Sell A Door Theatre Company are presenting the stunning musical adaptation of Ian Serrallier’s 1956 novel, The Silver Sword. The Times listed Serrallier’s book as one of the top children’s novels of all time, so it can be expected that this production will be full of musical excitement. This production will also include stunning visual projections and puppetry.

The musical follows the story of a family of children trying to survive in Warsaw, Poland, after the devastation World War 1 left behind. The children coincidentally come across an orphan who has somehow obtained their father’s Silver Sword, which gives the children hope that their father may still be alive. What follows is an adventurous journey, that promises to reunite the children with their father as they travel far and wide to find him.

The musical adaptation of Serrallier’s novel will be full of warmth, passion and adventure. Tom Mackley is to play the role of Jan, whilst the children will be played by Oliver Bucker and Rachel Flynn. Bronia will be played by numerous child actors at the different venues as they embark on their UK tour.

The Silver Sword is at Nuffield Theatre from the 5th-7th of November.
