How I Met Your Mother spin off cancelled

CBS have announced that their spin off from the hit TV show How I Met Your Mother has been cancelled.

The show was set to tell the story of Sally, played by Greta Gerwig, on the road to meeting her future partner, was tentatively named How I Met Your Dad. Nina Tassler, one of the CBS executives, commented that “things on the pilot didn’t work out”  after producers of the pilot refused to change the pilot in any manner. Tassler also commented that “We tried to reach out and engage them about redoing the pilot, but that it’s just not happening. You run into these kinds of issues. You hope they can resolve themselves. They haven’t. I’m heartsick. It wasn’t what they wanted to do.”

The producers of the show are now able to propose the show to other networks, as CBS has declined to pick up the show. CBS has only green lit two new comedies for the 2014-2015 season: The Odd Couple with Matthew Perry and The McCarthys with Laurie Metcalf.
