Veronica Mars movie trailer released

The first full feature trailer for the Veronica Mars film has been released.

The project made waves last year when a Kickstarter campaign to part fund the movie reached its $2 million target in less than ten hours. The first trailer has now been released, ahead of the film’s release in selected cinemas on 14th March 2014 in the USA, with a UK date still to be announced.

The trailer shows Veronica (Kristen Bell) returning to Neptune to help her old flame Logan Echolls (Jason Dohring) after he is accused of murdering his girlfriend, despite not having talked to him in nine years. Only Veronica hasn’t investigated a crime in years, and is set to become a lawyer in New York, and she’s got a good guy boyfriend, Stosh ‘Piz’ Piznarski who featured in the final season of the show. Throw in a high school reunion and you have the recipe of all of the things that made Rob Thomas’s show such a cult hit.

Veronica’s trademark wit is evident through the trailer, as she snarks to her father “I knew the felonies before I knew the state capitals”, and it seems that her old habits haven’t left her as she is determined to clear Logan’s name. The trailer also features old fan favourites from the television show, including Dick Casablancas (Ryan Hansen), Cindy ‘Mac’ Mackensie (Tina Majorino), Wallace Fennel (Parcy Daggs III) and Leo D’Amato (Max Greenfield).
