Pussy Galore to return in new James Bond novel

It has been revealed that classic Bond character, Pussy Galore, is to make her literary return in the new James Bond novel Trigger Mortis, written by Alex Rider author Anthony Horowitz and featuring original material by the late creator of the franchise, Ian Fleming.

Set in 1957, just after the events of Goldfinger, the novel sees Bond become embroiled in the Space Race between the Soviet Union and the USA. Pussy Galore returns just as a historic American rocket launch is about to take place.

Discussing Trigger Mortis, Horowitz said:

The cover for the novel has also been released.

It was always my intention to go back to the true Bond, which is to say, the Bond that Fleming created, and it was a fantastic bonus having some original, unseen material from the master to launch my story.

I was so glad that I was allowed to set the book two weeks after my favourite Bond novel, Goldfinger, and I’m delighted that Pussy Galore is back! It was great fun revisiting the most famous Bond Girl of all – although she is by no means the only dangerous lady in Trigger Mortis. I hope fans enjoy it. My aim was to make this the most authentic James Bond novel anyone could have written.

Pussy Galore was iconically realised onscreen by English actress Honor Blackman in the 1964 film, Goldfinger, where she played opposite Sean Connery’s legendary characterisation of the gentleman spy.

Trigger Mortis by Anthony Horowitz, will be available to buy from 8th September, courtesy of Orion Publishing.
The latest James Bond film, Spectre, is currently set to hit cinemas on 6th November. You can watch the teaser trailer below.
