Disney releases trailer for Frozen Fever – watch

Disney have previously announced that they will be releasing a short, seven-minute film to follow on from 2013’s animation, Frozen, that of course has us all singing ‘Let it Go.’ The film’s success came as a shock to the makers and viewers alike but not its status is almost cult like. Ahead of the short film’s release Disney have released a mini trailer to entice all and most likely grab more viewers for their Cinderella.

The short film will see everyone’s favourite queen Elsa (Idina Menzel) attempt to throw a part for Princess Anna’s birthday (Kristen Bell) and keep the whole thing hush hush, though first she’ll have to stop Olaf (Josh Gad) eating the cake.  Of course, things don’t go to plan and Elsa comes down with a cold. As Elsa is not our normal Disney Queen she cannot come down with a conventional cold, as director Jennifer Lee explains: “Elsa doesn’t get a cold in the usual way. She’s special. Surprising things occur that wreak a little havoc.”

Thankfully our favourite husband and wife duo, Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, have returned with a new song for the short, following the worldwide success of ‘Let It Go.’ Josh Gad said about the new track that “if history is any indicator, kids will go nuts.” I know i’m certainly not ready for that, I’m still relearning ‘Do You Want to Build a Snowman?’

Frozen Fever will be shown before Cinderella starring Helen Bonham Carter (Big Fish, Sweeney Todd) and Richard Madden (Game of Thrones) when it is released here in the UK on the 3rd April.
