Friendly Fires Postpone Southampton Gig

St Alban’s trio Friendly Fires have cancelled tonight’s sold out gig at Southampton Guildhall.

Energetic frontman Ed MacFarlane has had to call off the show due to a throat infection making him too ill to perform. None of the other gigs in their worldwide tour have been affected as of yet, but that will be no consolation to Southampton’s Friendly Fires fans.

The band has said that they will reschedule the show, so have urged fans to keep hold of their tickets in anticipation of the rescheduled date being announced.

A statement on their site reads:

It is with great regret that tonight’s show in Southampton has to be postponed due to Ed suffering from a viral throat infection. We will be rescheduling the show as soon as possible and we apologise to our fans who were looking forward to seeing us perform tonight. At present no other UK dates will be affected.

The band are currently touring their newest album Pala following the massive breakthrough success of their self-titled debut Friendly Fires.
