Hard-rock group Soil are coming to Southampton on October 19th and will be gracing the city’s newest music venue, The 1865, with their signature experimental style. Ranked among the elite in hard-rock/metal alongside groups like Puddle of Mudd, Drowning Pool, Static-X, and Disturbed, and having played to audiences in their tens of thousands across the world at countless venues, the sound of Soil is unmistakable as a classic and undeniable success of modern rock music.

It wasn’t easy for them in the early days, though. The band was formed as a side project for members of death metal acts Oppressor and Broken Hope, but failed to break into the mainstream arena with their first three releases. So in 1999, Shaun Glass of Broken Hope and Tom Schofield, Tim King, and Adam Zadel (all three ex-Oppressor members) banded together with vocalist Ryan McCombs to devote all of their attention to Soil. After battles over record deals and changes in band members, Soil stand today with six studio albums and over one million worldwide record sales under their belt.

So, definitely a band to be excited about. What’s more, they won’t be the only giants on stage. Minneapolis industrial metal boys American Head Charge are tagging along, as well as rapcore wizards Hed PE following the release of their most recent album Evolution. Grab a ticket and come down to The 1865 to hear the music that helped give birth to modern hard-rock.

Tickets are available here for £19.
