At the tender age of 19, MNEK has already made quite a name for himself in the music industry, writing and producing for a host of big names, such as Rudimental, A*M*E, Little Mix, Duke Dumont and Sub Focus to name but a few.

MNEK first became interested in music production at just 14 years of age, following which he sent his tracks to numerous blogs. Since then he’s been nominated for a Grammy for best dance track for his collaboration with Duke Dumont and A*M*E on the summer smash hit ‘Need U (100%)’.

What makes MNEK stand out from the crowd is his ability to mix genres with ease. Such tracks like ‘Sweet Fantasy’ demonstrate his intelligence and merging together two iconic dance tracks, Baby D’s 1992 hit ‘Let Me Be Your Fantasy’ and Shanks and Bigfoot’s ‘Sweet Like Chocolate’ which was released in 1999. He combines this two tracks effortlessly with his sultry vocals to create a modern twist on these 90s dance classics.

It appears that MNEK has been tipped as ‘one to watch’ for a while now, garnering attention from NME’s “20 hottest producers right now” list way back in 2011. He manages to get the perfect balance of catchy urban beats with R&B/soul vocals, making for a pretty successful formula for creating successful dance tracks. MNEK is clearly well liked within the music industry due to his numerous collaborations with several successful artist, and it looks like people are already begging to work with him. With all this in mind, it would be rude not to include MNEK on THE LIST 2014.

Hi I'm Grace I risk sounding disgustingly cliched but I cannot remember a time when music wasn't part of my life. I love going to gigs and have been known to dabble in a bit of gigging and song writing myself.
