The classic comedy show Whose Line is it Anyway? will return after a sixteen year hiatus, in a new form at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this year.

Sixteen years after the show was cancelled by Channel 4, the show will be transformed into a live show, and be renamed Whose Live Show is is Anyway?. Original host Clive Anderson is scheduled to chair the show, which will run over fourteen nights in Edinburgh’s McEwan hall venue. Greg Proops, Stephen Frost and Josie Lawrence are apparently keen to be in the show, while Paul Merton and Phill Jupitus have also been in talks to appear.

Anderson commented that “Someone suggested doing a version of Whose Line Is It Anyway? And I couldn’t really think of a good reason not to. We did film a lot of material for the TV show that never made it in, but it was all genuinely improvised from audience suggestions. The only thing that we faked at all was the running order of the games.”

Whose Live Show is it Anyway? will be performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August 2014.
